Build Mode

Display a custom maintenance page while you update, fix, or redesign your site.

Ever needed to update your WordPress site but worried about visitors seeing a broken mess? Build Mode solves that problem in the most elegant way possible.

Use the Editor You Already Know

Instead of showing a boring "Under Maintenance" message, Build Mode lets you design your own maintenance page using the same tools you already know - the Block Editor or Classic Editor. Create something beautiful that actually represents your brand.

Here's the clever part: only your page content shows up - no header, no footer, no navigation menus. This means visitors can't accidentally click around and see unfinished parts of your site. But all your theme's styles and scripts still load, so your maintenance page looks exactly how you designed it.

How It Works

  1. Create any page using the Block Editor, Classic Editor, or a page builder.
  2. Choose that page from the plugin settings. You can also pick if you want to send a 503 status (for maintenance) or a 200 status (for teaser pages).
  3. Toggle Build Mode on from the admin bar. Your visitors now see that page — with no header, footer, or nav — but your site’s styles and scripts still load for a seamless look.

Why You'll Love It

  • One-Click Toggle
Turn maintenance mode on/off from the admin bar. No digging through settings.
  • SEO-Friendly
By default, Build Mode sends a proper 503 status code and Retry-After header so search engines know your downtime is temporary. Running a "Coming Soon" or pre-launch teaser? Simply uncheck the status code box to serve a 200 OK response, making sure Google indexes your new landing page normally.
  • Admin-Friendly
You and your team can keep working normally — only visitors see the maintenance page.
  • Works Everywhere
Compatible with block themes, classic themes, and major page builders.

Perfect For:

  • Redesigns
  • Major updates or migrations
  • Perfect for landing pagesComing Soon teasers, and maintenance messages.
  • Anytime you need to work on your site without showing the mess

Build Mode makes maintenance mode effortless. Design it once, switch it on when needed, and visitors will see a clean, on-brand page while you work in the background.
